FujiFilm Cameras

FujiFilm FinePix A350

This FujiFilm camera is designed to corner the market on a few unique features, being the first in its price range to have a 5.2-megapixel sensor and xD memory card slot.

The FinePix A350’s interface, however, will likely prove frustrating to even the calmest among us. Most of the controls are impossible to use without crawling through a series of complicated menus.

Worst of all, this camera does a very poor job of utilizing its seemingly impressive resolution, with image quality that’s mediocre at the best of times. Off-color details and an overly soft focus are two of the most serious photographic weaknesses.

The A350 does feature an integrated video recorder, but it’s 320×240 resolution is very second rate for most applications.

Fujifilm FinePix Z1

The FinePix Z1 features a handsome metal body and 3X zoom lens. Folded optics keeps the lens from protruding, allowing for a compact and highly manageable overall design.

The lack of an optical viewfinder is one small disadvantage, but a surprisingly large 2.5-inch LCD display helps you set up the perfect shot before you snap the shutter.

Controls on the Z1 are easy-to-use, and not too intimidating for the inexperienced photographer, but they might not satisfy those seeking a high level of manual control.

Although this camera’s flash is a little weak, it can still be a good choice for low and ambient light photography, thanks to its ability to take pictures at ISO 800.
